Abstract

Introduction: Coronary heart disease (CHD) is one of the causes of death in the world. Some research have shown that use of some stress management techniques reducing blood pressure, can reduce vasoconstriction and improved cardiac function and quality of life. This study intends to survey effect of relaxation technique of Benson on quality of life with coronary heart disease.

Methods: This study is an experimental study among 120 cases of coronary heart disease referred to the heart of city of Yazd Afshar hospital that were 60 test group and 60 non-test group. Data collection was tool standard questionnaire SF36 quality of life. Data collected and compiled by the computer software spss-14 and analyzed.

Results: The mean age of patients was 56.95±9.44 years that 65.8% of the patients were male. Differences in all domain of quality of life for patients before and 2 months after the intervention in test group were significantly.

Conclusion: Application of Benson’s Relaxation training, improved the quality of life of open heart surgery disease
